Role Summary
The Security Trailer Build Technician is responsible for the assembly, outfitting, and preparation of mobile security trailers and towers. This is primarily a shop-based position focused on completing trailer builds efficiently, accurately, and according to company standards.
The role requires a hands-on individual with strong mechanical and technical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience using hand and power tools.
Employees in this position will be cross-trained on field installation and deployment procedures to provide backup support when operationally required. Field work is expected to be limited and would generally only occur when additional installation support is necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Trailer Build & Assembly
● Assemble and outfit mobile security trailers and towers according to company standards and build specifications.
● Install cameras, sensors, power systems, networking equipment, mounting hardware, and related components.
● Complete wiring, mounting, mechanical assembly, and integration of equipment.
● Follow work orders, BOMs, build instructions, and established procedures.
● Identify and resolve build issues during assembly.
● Maintain an organized and efficient work area.
● Ensure builds are completed accurately and within expected timelines.
Build Quality & Documentation
● Complete required build documentation and checklists.
● Record required equipment information and serial numbers throughout the build process.
● Identify deficiencies or incomplete work prior to the trailer moving to final QA and testing.
● Work with the QA/testing team to correct any build-related deficiencies.
● Maintain consistent build quality across trailer models.
Shop & Equipment Support
● Assist with trailer repairs, modifications, upgrades, and maintenance as required.
● Safely operate shop equipment and tools.
● Assist with loading, unloading, and moving trailers or equipment.
● Operate forklifts, telehandlers, or other equipment where trained and authorized.
Field Installation Support
● Maintain basic familiarity with field installation and deployment procedures through cross-training.
● Assist with field installations, trailer deployments, service calls, or related field work when additional support is required.
● Safely operate company vehicles and tow trailers when required and authorized.
● Field work is secondary to the primary responsibility of trailer building and is expected to occur only as operationally necessary.
Key Deliverables
● Consistently completed and properly assembled security trailers and towers.
● Accurate and complete build documentation.
● Builds completed according to company standards, work orders, and specifications.
● Timely identification and correction of build deficiencies.
● Organized and efficient use of shop materials and equipment.
● Reliable backup support for field operations when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
● Experience with mechanical assembly, fabrication, electrical work, construction, automotive, or another hands-on trade or technical environment.
● Comfortable using hand and power tools.
● Strong mechanical aptitude.
● Basic understanding of wiring, low-voltage electrical systems, or networking equipment is an asset.
● Ability to read and follow build instructions, work orders, and BOMs.
● Ability to lift and move equipment as required.
● Strong attention to detail and quality.
● Valid driver’s license.
● Ability to tow trailers is an asset.
● Willingness to complete field installation cross-training and provide occasional field support when required.
