About CoBSMEs
The Coalition of Black Small & Medium Enterprises (CoBSMEs) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering Black entrepreneurs and business owners through business development programs, training, mentorship, networking opportunities, and strategic partnerships. Through initiatives such as the Black Business Ecosystem Initiative (BBEI), CoBSMEs works to strengthen entrepreneurial capacity, foster economic growth, and create opportunities for Black-owned businesses to thrive.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for CoBSMEs and its programs.
- Implement the organization's strategic plan and Board-approved priorities.
- Oversee program delivery, staffing, budgeting, and financial management.
- Ensure compliance with funding agreements, reporting requirements, and organizational policies.
- Monitor organizational performance, key performance indicators (KPIs), and program outcomes.
- Build and maintain relationships with funders, partners, stakeholders, and community organizations.
- Represent CoBSMEs at meetings, events, and public engagements.
- Support and report regularly to the Board of Directors.
- Identify funding, partnership, and growth opportunities that support organizational sustainability.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in nonprofit or SME development sectors.
- Strong background in strategic planning, financial management, and governance.
- Experience managing multi-stakeholder projects and grant-funded programs.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting Black entrepreneurs or underrepresented business communities.
