RAN Optimization Expert (Nokia Experience)
This job is contract positions in Toronto, Ontario; Montréal, QB; Calgary, AB; Edmonton, AB; Vancouver, BC for TBD hours per week. The jobs are with one of top 4 services providers in Canada and, the work environment is hybrid.
Years of Experience: 10+ years of experience in Radio Access Network (RAN) optimization, performance engineering, and network troubleshooting across LTE and 5G networks (Nokia Experience).
Work Location: Toronto, Ontario/ Calgary, AB/ Edmonton, AB/ Vancouver, BC
Project Duration: 12 months (with high chances of renewal)
Job Summary
We are seeking highly skilled RAN Optimization Experts to join our dynamic team working for one of the top 4 services providers in Canada. The ideal candidates will be responsible for optimizing Radio Access Network (RAN) performance, ensuring network reliability, and supporting the deployment of advanced network solutions. This role requires Hands-on expertise with Nokia technologies, including Nokia RAN, NetAct, OSS tools, KPI analysis, parameter tuning, and end-to-end network performance optimization. Proven ability to improve network KPIs, enhance customer experience, conduct root cause analysis, and lead optimization initiatives for large-scale mobile operators. Experienced in VoLTE, NSA/SA 5G architectures and drive test analysis. .

Typical Responsibilities
- Lead optimization activities for LTE and 5G networks.
- Analyze network KPIs and identify performance degradation trends.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting using OSS counters, Layer 3 logs, PCAP traces, and drive-test data.
- Optimize accessibility, retainability, mobility, throughput, and quality KPIs.
- Conduct parameter audits and recommend feature activations.
- Improve handover success rates, call setup success rates, and user throughput.
- Support VoLTE optimization initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of wireless network optimization experience.
- Nokia RAN experience.
- Deep understanding of LTE, 5G, and VoLTE technologies.
- Knowledge in Nokia NetAct and Nokia performance management tools.
- Familiar with shared RAN, MOCN, DSS, and Carrier Aggregation.
- Knowledge of 3GPP standards and radio performance optimization methodologies.
