As a Chef with Matan & Co. Staffing Agency, you will be part of a dynamic team providing high-quality culinary services for a wide range of events across Toronto and the GTA. We staff everything from film sets and corporate functions to weddings and private events.
We are currently hiring for multiple chef positions, including:
- Head Chefs
- Event Chefs
- Prep Chefs (
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and executing event menus, ensuring food quality and presentation standards are met, and maintaining a safe, clean kitchen environment. Depending on your experience and role, you may also lead kitchen operations and supervise other event staff.
Please note: We are a temporary staffing agency — this is not a guaranteed full-time position. Most of our work is freelance / on-call, based on event schedules. That said, we offer excellent opportunities for regular work during the busy seasons (spring through fall), and many of our chefs pick up consistent shifts throughout the year.
This role is perfect for chefs looking for flexible work, extra income, or variety in their week, with the potential for full-time prep chef shifts for those interested.
Qualifications:
- Professional kitchen experience (restaurant, catering, or events) required
- Experience as Head Chef, Event Chef, or Prep Chef an asset
- Strong understanding of food preparation, safety, and sanitation standards
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced and changing environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Food Handler’s Certification required
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Reliability, professionalism, and punctuality are a must
