Mati Crudo + Charcoal is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager / Maître D' to lead our front-of-house team and deliver the elevated hospitality experience our guests have come to expect.
Mati is an upscale steak and seafood restaurant built around exceptional ingredients, live charcoal cooking, refined service, and attention to every detail. We believe that true hospitality begins the moment a guest walks through the door.
As Restaurant Manager / Maître D', you will own the guest experience from arrival to departure. You will lead by example on the floor, guide and coach the front-of-house team, and ensure every guest interaction reflects the warmth, professionalism, and sophistication of the Mati brand.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all front-of-house operations during service
- Manage reservations, seating plans, and guest flow
- Welcome and engage with guests, creating memorable first and last impressions
- Oversee and support Servers, Bartenders, Barbacks, Hosts, and Server Assistants
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate service priorities
- Coach and mentor team members in real time to uphold service standards
- Address guest feedback and resolve concerns with professionalism and empathy
- Collaborate closely with the culinary team to ensure seamless execution
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and hospitality excellence
- Support scheduling, reporting, and operational initiatives as required
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in an upscale restaurant environment
- Previous experience as a Restaurant Manager, Maître D', Assistant General Manager, or Front-of-House Manager preferred
- Strong understanding of fine dining service standards
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and solution-oriented under pressure
- A hands-on leadership style with a passion for developing others
- Experience with OpenTable and POS systems considered an asset
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
