Welder / Fabrication Equipment Operator

As our manufacturing operation continues to grow, we are looking for motivated individuals to join our fabrication team.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Welder / Fabrication Equipment Operator to support our metal fabrication and manufacturing operations.
This is a hands-on position involving welding, CNC equipment operation, fabrication, and assembly. Our fabrication work is approximately 80% aluminum, 10% stainless steel, and 10% mild steel.
We welcome applicants with various levels of experience and skill. If you have good mechanical aptitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn, we are prepared to train the right person.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG, TIG, and laser welding on aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel
- Primarily weld and fabricate aluminum components
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and shop drawings
- Operate a CNC fiber laser cutting machine
- Operate and set up a CNC press brake
- Form and fabricate parts according to drawings and specifications
- Fit, assemble, and weld fabricated components
- Use grinders, saws, drills, hand tools, and other fabrication equipment
- Use calipers, tape measures, squares, and other measuring tools to verify part accuracy
- Inspect completed parts for dimensional accuracy and workmanship
- Safely move materials using forklifts, cranes, and material-handling equipment
- Assist with general fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing tasks as required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work with production and engineering staff to identify and resolve fabrication issues
Qualifications
- Welding or metal fabrication experience is an asset, but all skill levels are welcome to apply
- MIG, TIG, or laser welding experience is an asset
- Aluminum welding experience is a strong asset
- CNC laser and/or CNC press brake experience is an asset
- Ability to read fabrication drawings and blueprints is an asset
- Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Comfortable working with machinery, hand tools, and power tools
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Forklift and overhead crane experience is an asset
- Willingness to learn new equipment and manufacturing processes
