Payroll Coordinator

Our client, who is a reputable downtown Toronto Law Firm is looking for a Payroll Coordinator. In this opportunity as a Payroll Clerk, you will be responsible for administering payroll for 100+ employees in the firm. You will be in charge of other duties like ensuring procedures are compliant to policies, running reports and assisting with other duties. This position is full time and is based in Downtown Toronto area, specifically by Eaton Center.

The main responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:
  • Responsible to update and process new hires, any changes to pay, termination and other pay related information.
  • Assist with the setup of payment plans for employees.
  • Enter payroll data in the software provided, with taking source deductions and compensation changes into effect.
  • Process adjustments and non-unionized compensations, also distribute annual tax forms.
  • Reconcile month and year end Ledger accounts.
  • Assist with other procedures such as Record of Employment, responding to employees, etc.
  • Maintain an up-to-date account of earnings and deductions.
The key qualifications required for this role are:
  • Minimum 1 years of experience working in a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of ADP Payroll (Pay @ Work) is preferred.
  • Canadian Payroll Association (PCP) Designation a nice to have.
  • Understanding of accounting fundaments.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
