Job Summary
  • Graduate from a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician (MLA/T) educational institute
  • Ontario Society of Medical Technologist (OSMT) certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a hospital laboratory environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Histology specimen acceptability
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Cytology specimen preparation
  • Demonstrates excellence in communication, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to solve analytical and technical problems
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt to requirements of assigned duties
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and proficient in keyboarding
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties
  • Committed to customer service and teamwork
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety
  • Understanding of quality assurance
  • Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrates individual leadership skills
