Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Drillers Helper to support drilling operations in the mining industry. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic construction environment. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, safety-conscious, and possess a strong work ethic. Prior experience in mechanical work, construction, or operating equipment such as skid steers is a plus but not required. This role involves assisting with drilling activities, maintaining equipment, and supporting the drill team to ensure efficient project completion.
Responsibilities
- Assist drillers with setup, operation, and maintenance of drilling equipment
- Loading blast holes under supervision of blaster of record
- Handle tools and supplies needed for drilling operations
- Support in the assembly and disassembly of drilling components
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Operate skid steer or other machinery as trained and authorized
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures on-site
- Assist with material handling, including moving supplies and equipment around the site
- Support blast hole drilling activities as needed
- Contribute to team efforts during construction projects
Requirements
- Basic mechanical knowledge or experience in construction preferred
- Prior experience with equipment operation is advantageous
- Knowledge of blast hole drilling processes is a plus but not mandatory
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks on-site
- Valid driver’s license preferred for operating company vehicles or equipment safety training purposes
- Commitment to safety standards and procedures at all times
Pay: $28.50-$32.50 per hour
