Welder – Shop & Field (Oil & Gas Drilling Industry)
ECSRIG is a longstanding Alberta-based provider of electrical, controls, automation, and fabrication services to the oil and gas drilling sector. We're looking for a skilled Welder to join our team, working both in our Nisku shop and on-site at customer/field locations supporting rig equipment fabrication and repair.
Responsibilities:
- Perform welding and fabrication work on structural components, skids, and rig-related equipment in the shop
- Travel to field/customer sites as needed to perform portable welding and repairs on drilling equipment
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints
- Fit up and weld steel structures and components to specification using MIG and Stick processes
- Perform quality checks on welds to ensure they meet code and specification requirements
- Operate related shop equipment (grinders, cutting tools, fabrication equipment) as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment in the shop and on job sites
- Follow all site-specific safety requirements when working in the field
Requirements:
- Journeyman or experienced welder (Red Seal certification an asset)
- Proficient in MIG and Stick welding
- Experience with structural/fabrication welding; oil and gas or drilling industry experience an asset
- Comfortable and willing to travel to field/customer sites as required
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to read fabrication drawings and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality/safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
