We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our lean and agile team in our Vancouver, BC Headquarters. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing a range of AP and GL duties to support our automotive operations. This position will require an outgoing individual. The individual needs to be able to work in a fast-pace, self-start environment and effectively work with multiple tasks and teams.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Process invoices based on contract, PO and company payment approval process and procedure.
Record invoices in accounting system to proper accounts.
Review work of AP clerk for accuracy.
Process expense reports and credit card transactions.
List weekly payable and prepare payments in online banking system for approval.
Monitor all bank and credit card accounts balance to ensure sufficient funds to cover upcoming transactions.
Create sales invoices and follow up on outstanding AR balance.
Record inventory receiving, transfer and adjustments, assist inventory management.
Prepare sales tax returns (GST/HST, PST and etc.) and other government fillings. Ensure on time filing and payment.
Prepare bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts of various companies.
Prepare intercompany reconciliations.
Assist to prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements of various companies, reconcile balance sheet accounts, analyze expenses and prepare accruals.
Coordinate with auditors for quarterly review and annual audit.
Assist to design and implement procedures to enhance internal control.
Effectively collaborates with all company locations to ensure that bookkeeping, reporting, and processes are all strategically aligned.
Provides coaching and mentorship to junior accountants as needed by the company.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
8-10 years of experience in an accounting role in industry, manufacturing and distribution industry experience are desired.
Experience with full cycle AP is a must, deep understanding of business operation, ability to process accounting transactions according to business agreements, and integrate accounting standard with business operation.
Bachelor’s Degree or higher level of education is required for this role.
Certified accountant with an appropriate designation (CPA, CA, CGA, etc.).
Experiences with payroll, public company reporting and IFRS are desired.
Advance Excel skills and high literacy of accounting software; experience with SAGE or Xero is considered an asset.
Excellent Verbal & Written communication skills to build effective relationships across departments and subsidiaries.
Team player who is comfortable consistently working with multiple teams with limited supervision.
Self-starter who will take ownership of responsibilities and strive to continuous improvement.
Legally able to work in Canada.
