Indigenous Child and Youth Worker
(Various shifts available including evenings, and weekends)

HF Resources currently has positions available for Child and Youth Workers in our homes in Edmonton. 24/7 care is provided and includes working with schools, professionals involved with the children, providing opportunity to learn and practicing cultural teachings, escort and supervise children attending various activities and events.
Candidates who have experience working with children and youth and who have education in Child and Youth Care diploma or degree programs, or other related programs such as Social Work or Psychology will be given preference for these opportunities. Applicants must provide a Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check, Child Intervention Record Check, Driver's Abstract and a valid Alberta driver’s license.
Child and Youth Workers have a variety of schedules depending on the availability of staff and the needs of the homes. We currently have need weekend, and afternoon/evening shifts. These positions are paid wages starting at $18.00 per hour depending on education and experience.
REGARDING DAILY ROUTINES AND DAILY RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Ensure the basic needs of all persons served in the program are being met (food, clothing, shelter, etc.).
- Ensure that the educational needs of all persons served in the program are being met (assisting with homework, connecting with day program, etc.).
- Facilitate the transportation of persons served to and from school, or appointments, when necessary.
- Administer medications to persons served.
- Plan and provide recreational options.
- Ensure daily routines are being followed.
- Maintain consistency of house rules, routines, expectations, and consequences.
REGARDING PAPERWORK AND ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS:
The timely completion of ALL file documentation is required. This includes, but is not exclusive to:
- Persons served/guardian Handbooks.
- Consents
- Contact Notes
- Critical Incident Reports
- Clothing Inventory
- Tracking Forms
- Daily Progress Reports
- Medication Administration
In addition to above duties and responsibilities, other duties may be assigned by Senior Management.

A benefit program is available for staff working at least 30 hours per week on average. HF Resources is also committed to training and developing staff to meet the needs of our clients.
