We are seeking a person to fill a full-time permanent position to add to our growing Quality Assurance Laboratory. Previous basic laboratory skills not a requirement.
The expected duties would include, but are not limited to:
- organizing samples for dilutions
- perform dilutions of liquid colostrum
- accurately/aseptically weigh out samples of dried colostrum for further analysis
- preparing laboratory reagents and plates for testing
- measuring serum protein/Brix content of lab samples
- verifying shipping orders
- packing up samples for retention
- using a variety of laboratory equipment such as scales, pH meter, refractometer, water bath, moisture analyzer and pipettes
- organizing and cleaning of fridges and freezers
- washing plasticware/glassware that is used in the process of testing preparation
Requirements:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent (Laboratory skills are an asset)
- Good English literacy and communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Work well with others
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent; 8 am-4:30 pm for the first month while training and then switch to 2 pm-10:30 pm shift permanently
Salary: Starting is $17.00 per hour and increase to $18.00 per hour after 3 month probation period is completed
