Job Summary
We are seeking a Log/Barge Towing Dispatcher to coordinate daily tugboat, barge, and crew movements on the Fraser River. This role ensures safe, efficient, and timely marine operations through effective communication with vessel crews, customers, and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and dispatch tugs, barges, and crews based on operational needs
- Communicate with vessel masters, customers, and management
- Monitor vessel activity and adjust schedules as required
- Coordinate crew changes and operational logistics
- Maintain dispatch records, schedules, and reports
- Respond to operational issues in a timely manner
Requirements
- Marine transportation, towing, or dispatch experience preferred
- Knowledge of Fraser River log and barge operations an asset
- Experience with Tug Assist software an asset
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills essential
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment

Training
Full on-the-job training provided by experienced senior dispatchers. Marine industry experience is valuable; dispatch experience is an asset but not required.
