The Studio Monitor will support the re-launch of Extra Life Drawing sessions and the re-introduction of Life Drawing classes on the Trafalgar campus in the Fall 2021 semester. The Studio Monitor could be assigned to work in any of three areas: Illustration, Art Fundamentals/Visual and Creative Arts, and Extra Life Drawing. Monitors will be responsible for maintaining studio spaces, ensuring student compliance with Covid-19 health and safety protocols, assisting faculty with room set-up, and offering technical support to faculty streaming life drawing classes from campus.
What You’ll be Doing
Working directly with Life Drawing models;
Maintaining studio spaces;
Replenishing cleaning solutions and personal protective equipment (PPE) in rooms;
Monitoring studios and adjacent corridors for compliance with health and safety protocols and public health measures, as well as proper life drawing etiquette;
Handling compliance issues as they arise;
Assisting faculty with set up and take down of backdrops, drapery, props and lighting;
Offering technical support with OBS, Zoom and Padlet as needed;
Facilitating virtual (streaming) of Life Drawing sessions including hosting Zoom calls and operating cameras;
Problem-solving technical issues as they arise;
Communicating issues about studio, studio equipment and health & safety concerns to the Technologist;
Checking email for requests and communications from Technologist and Faculty;
Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate (s) will also meet the following qualifications:
Successful completion of a visual arts program, preferably Sheridan’s Illustration, Animation, Art Fundamentals and/or Visual and Creative Arts programs is preferred;
Familiar with Life Drawing classrooms, labs and studios, and their procedures;
Familiar with model etiquette in a life drawing setting;
Willing to take direction and perform some physical tasks as needed;
Experience in Life Drawing set up of props and models will be considered an asset;
Capacity to learn new software and equipment quickly

Hourly Rate: $17.72+ 4% in lieu of vacation
Hours/Week: up to 24 hours
Hours: Monday – Friday (possible Saturdays)
