Lumentum is seeking a Senior Director, IT Business Systems, reporting to the IT VP of Applications. This is a global role and will be responsible for leading the Business Applications Teams. This is an exciting time to join Lumentum on its journey to expand its presence in optical markets throughout the world. You will collaborate with all aspects of the company including: Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, Finance and HR organizations. You will also partner with internal IT functions to ensure global IT practices are defined and integrated as part of ongoing improvements.
This role will ensure alignment of business strategy to the IT systems architecture and roadmap. You will partner with your business counterparts to institute global practices, and ensuring executive alignment.
Responsibility for management of IT staff globally, including locations in Thailand, China, Japan, England, and Silicon Valley. Excellent leadership skills and team building skills are optimal to the success of the person in this role. Collaboration with local/regional site management teams as well as the IT team members are crucial to the success of this role.
In addition to managing the global IT Business Systems teams, this role will represent IT application functions to executive management. The role will partner closely with executive management, including the CFO, and functional SVPs on a regular basis. To ensure alignment of strategy, plans and regular progress updates.
The person in this role collaborates with Manufacturing / Functional Leaders and Subject Matter Experts (SME) to deliver a robust application stack and systems integration. Responsible for tracking and reporting program progress, status and key issues to cross functional managers and stakeholders. Facilitate and manage program meetings and drive team members to key decision points.
To thrive in this role, you must possess solid understanding of a manufacturing environment and the systems that support the business process. Skills in software development methodology (SDLC), people management are a plus. Excellent communication, organizational skills and program management skills are required for the successful candidate.
Senior Director can expect to:
Work with on-premise and cloud solution deployments
Deliver high-quality solutions across Lumentum’s global sites and functions.
Lead a variety of projects ranging in both size and scope
Mature local and global systems and processes. Focus on metrics to report results and identify areas for improvement.
Key responsibilities may include:
Build long-term relationships with business customers to become a trusted advisor, to oversee adoption of system/process changes, and promote best practices to continually improve processes and quality.
Nurturing IT staff and coaching them to expand their skills for their personal growth, in alignment with Lumentum systems architecture. Develop staff and lead them on a continuous improvement path
Promote diversity and inclusion. Hire and expand team capabilities as budget permits.
Facilitate and lead the introduction of Agile Scrum development processes.
Manage initiatives, ensuring proper resourcing, project management and status reporting.
Identify areas for improvement in IT support processes and implement solutions, in alignment with global IT architecture.
Partner with senior manufacturing site representatives to drive global process and system standards for manufacturing systems.
Evaluate new technologies and identify candidate solutions which can lead to highly optimized information and factory efficiencies. Establish pilots of promising technologies and create success criteria. Develop system initiative proposals and change management plans for successful pilots.
Implement and manage IT change, incident, test, release, support transition (SDLC) processes in adherence with global standards
Serve as an escalation point for issues impacting areas of responsibility.
Develop support transition and training for new technologies.
Manage outsourced service providers in the delivery of software solutions. Ensure clear design documentation and hand-off to the offshore development team(s).
Define and implement robust systems architecture to ensure system availability targets are obtained.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in computer science, engineering or business administration. Masters degree preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience and poise in presenting to executive management. Strong English communication skills highly desirable.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior management or director level role, responsible for manufacturing systems.
Experience implementing and supporting Business Systems and integration platforms
Prior merger, acquisition and divesture experience
Experience with the following vendor offerings: Oracle (PDH, Hyperion and EBS), Workday, SAP (Concur, Ariba), Mulesoft, Salesforce, Tableau
Solid understanding of SOX and supporting ITGC requirements
Preferred Skills Requirement:
Travel 20%
Very good understanding of business systems and supporting integrations.
Working knowledge of one or more industry leading ERP systems Oracle is desired.
Good understanding of integration of MES with ERP and master data management systems.
Proven ability to define change management plan and drive business change.
Experience in implementing large scale Enterprise Application programs including: Oracle Cloud, Oracle Hyperion, Workday, Mulesoft, Salesforce, Ariba.
Knowledge of integrating systems with vendors, customers and contract manufacturing partners

Ability to lead and motivate a local and global IT team.

Ability to evaluate technologies and solutions and work with business partners to document ROI and benefit to the business. Able to quickly judge technologies that will be of benefit and lead prototyping efforts.
