MUSE ENTERTAINMENT ENTERPRISES a leading film and television production company and international distributor known for its well-crafted and high-quality productions is currently looking for a Business Affairs Manager for its head office in Montreal.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS: Under the supervision of the CEO and Senior Director, Business Affairs, the applicant will be responsible for preparing, submitting and monitoring production funding applications for various entities.
ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND SPECIFIC DUTIES:
· Preparing tax credit estimates and reviewing budgets and filing applications
· Preparing project financing and recoupment structures
· Evaluating and analyzing multiple financing/tax credit scenarios
· Reviewing and monitoring production accounting cost reports, pivots, etc.
· Reviewing financing agreements with distributors, networks, agencies and other funders
· Preparing credits and paid ad summaries on a project-by-project basis
· Preparing chain-of-title summaries on a project-by-project basis
· Preparing insurance applications on a project-by-project basis
· Preparing guild-related registrations and notices on a project-by-project basis
· Coordinating project related title clearance on a project-by-project basis
· Filing copyright/ISAN applications on a project-by-project basis
· Liaising with producing and network partners; corresponding with government analysts to answer questions and furnish information
REQUIREMENTS:
· Knowledge of various funding agencies and different eligibility criteria (CAVCO, OMDC, SODEC, Creative BC, CMF, Telefilm and treaty co-productions)
· Post-Secondary degree or higher
· Ability to interpret legal documents, financial and technical
· Knowledge of industry accounting standards would be an asset.
· Fluent in English; working knowledge of French
· Fluent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) with advanced knowledge of Excel
· Working Knowledge of Movie Magic budgeting software
· The candidate retained will be organized, autonomous, with meticulous attention to detail, work well under pressure and be able to manage multiple files simultaneously.
