Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and dependable Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our transportation team. This role involves safely operating heavy-duty trucks to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high safety standards. Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for the transportation of freight across designated routes.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload freight using forklift or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including logs, delivery receipts, and compliance paperwork.
- Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting to address mechanical issues during trips.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during operations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly.
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts when necessary for loading or unloading freight.
Experience
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record.
- Prior experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related logistics roles preferred.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including forklifts is advantageous.
- Familiarity with automotive repair basics is a plus for troubleshooting mechanical issues on the road.
- Experience with freight handling and securement procedures is desirable.
