Job Summary
Nexa Electric Ltd. is seeking motivated and reliable Journeyman Electricians and Apprentice Electricians to join our growing team. Successful candidates will assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems in commercial, multi-family residential, and industrial projects throughout the Calgary area. Applicants should have a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and schematics.
- Install conduit, cable tray, wiring, devices, lighting, and electrical equipment.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and identify deficiencies or required repairs.
- Assist with renovations, tenant improvements, and new construction projects.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code, local regulations, and company safety standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and other trades to meet project schedules and deadlines.
- Perform low-voltage installations including communications, fire alarm, security, and control systems as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and participate in daily safety meetings and hazard assessments.
RequirementsJourneyman Electricians
- Valid Alberta Journeyman Electrician Certificate or Red Seal Certification.
- Minimum 3 years of commercial, multi-family, or industrial electrical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installation methods, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Apprentice Electricians
- Registered Electrical Apprentice in Alberta (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Year).
- Previous commercial or residential electrical experience considered an asset.
- Willingness to learn and develop electrical skills under the supervision of Journeyman Electricians.
- Ability to follow instructions, work safely, and maintain high-quality workmanship.
General Requirements
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work overtime, evenings, or weekends when required.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening if required.

Pay: $21.00-$42.00 per hour
