Position Overview
Toronto Veterinary Rehabilitation Centre is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and collaborative Veterinary Rehabilitation Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary rehabilitation team on a temporary full-time contract to provide maternity leave coverage for a minimum of 12 months, with the potential to extend up to 24 months.
The successful candidate will work closely with veterinarians, rehabilitation practitioners, and pet owners to develop and implement individualized rehabilitation and fitness programs for canine and feline patients recovering from orthopedic, neurologic, and soft tissue conditions. This role is ideal for a practitioner who is passionate about evidence-based rehabilitation medicine, client education, animal welfare, and collaborative patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive rehabilitation assessments for canine and feline patients
- Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation treatment plans under the direction of the supervising rehabilitation veterinarian where applicable
- Administer therapeutic modalities including:
- Therapeutic exercise
- Manual therapy
- Shockwave
- Therapeutic laser
- Electrical stimulation
- Hydrotherapy/land-based treadmill therapy
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans accordingly
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records
- Educate clients on home exercise programs, recovery expectations, and injury prevention strategies
- Collaborate with referring veterinarians and the rehabilitation team to optimize patient outcomes
- Support a positive, compassionate, and team-oriented clinic environment
- Maintain high standards of patient handling, safety, and cleanliness
Qualifications
Education: Degree or diploma in veterinary rehabilitation, physiotherapy, veterinary medicine, or a related rehabilitation field. Formal training or certification in canine rehabilitation (CCRP, CCRT, CCRA) or an equivalent international program is required.
Experience: Prior experience in a veterinary or animal rehabilitation setting is an asset.

- Proficiency in using scheduling software and basic office tools.
