Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Painter/Prepper to join our CARSTAR team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing vehicles for painting, ensuring all surfaces are properly cleaned, sanded, and primed to achieve a flawless finish. Duties
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Use hand tools and power tools to perform surface repairs and modifications as needed
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to vehicle parts or materials to maintain workflow efficiency
- Follow safety protocols and proper handling procedures for all equipment and materials used during prep work
- Collaborate with the painting team to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of projects
- Conduct inspections of vehicles post-prep to verify surface quality and readiness for painting
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and supplies are properly stored
Experience
- Prior collision center experience or automotive repair background is highly preferred
- Mechanical knowledge with an understanding of vehicle components and repair processes
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and spray equipment used in automotive prep work
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a busy workshop environment
- Mechanic experience or familiarity with automotive systems is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately
