Accounting Manager
We are currently looking for an Accounting Manager to join our company in Richmond, BC. This position is permanent full-time, experience in Wholesale or Distribution industry would be an asset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Full-Cycle Oversight: Lead and manage the end-to-end accounting cycle for 2-locations. You will ensure high-precision processing of manufacturer invoices and maintain the integrity of the consolidated general ledger across multiple entities.
- Inventory Control & Multi-Site Audit: Design and perform rigorous monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and inventory sub-ledgers. You will lead the investigation into discrepancies between physical warehouse counts and system records, implementing controls to prevent future loss.
- Inter-Province Compliance Management: Act as the company expert on regional tax regulations. You will ensure accuracy in BC taxes and inter-provincial taxes (PST vs. HST), overseeing the correct application of tax codes to local and imported vendor invoices to minimize audit risk.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Produce monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial packages. This includes detailed Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets for 2-locations, providing the owner/Finance Manager with insights into the profitability of the expansion.
- Treasury & Cash Flow Leadership: Actively forecast and monitor daily cash flow for 2-locations. You will strategically time payment obligations (EFT/Wires) against expected customer receipts to ensure the company has the liquidity needed for high-volume, bulk inventory purchases.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Directly supervise and mentor the accounting team (including Full-Cycle and Junior Accountants). You are responsible for reviewing their work, fostering professional growth, and maintaining high standards of precision across the department.
- Process Integrity: Oversee the 3-way matching process and payment runs, ensuring internal controls are robust enough to prevent leakage in a high-volume wholesale environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of Progressive Accounting Experience.
- Tax Expertise: Must have proven experience with BC and Canadian Tax Regulations and filing processes.
- Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Tech Savvy: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and experience with accounting software like Sage.
- Communication: Fluent in English and Cantonese. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required for professional interaction with external vendors.
- Detail-Oriented: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and a knack for identifying financial inconsistencies.
