Applications are now being accepted for the above position. The successful applicant will perform Waste Water Treatment Plant
Operator duties within the City of North Battleford.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform required parameter tests on plant operations using a variety of procedures, adjusting plant operations as required
  • Operate and monitor computerized control systems and related equipment in a class IV Biological Nutrient Removal waste
water treatment plant

  • Check systematically all plant processes and equipment to ensure proper operation and record operating characteristics
  • Assist in equipment maintenance and repair work including disassembly, re-assembly and installation
  • Receiving freight and chemicals including product loading and unloading
  • Monitoring and maintenance of five lift stations
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures and follow safe work practices and all occupational health and safety guidelines
  • Follow the permit to operate from water security
  • Record keeping
  • Physical maintenance including cleaning tasks; clarifiers, ultra violet lamps, shoveling snow, yard maintenance and grass

  • House-keeping and custodial duties
  • Participate in continuous learning by subscribing to work related courses in pursuing Operator 1 certification within one year
  • May assist in other areas of department as necessary and perform other duties as assigned
  • Graduate of Water Resources Engineering Technology, SIAST or other Post-Secondary education or equivalent
  • Journeyman, Technician and Apprentice courses such as electrical/plumbing/instrumentation an asset
  • Wastewater treatment plant operations experience an asset
  • WHMIS, Confined space Entry, H2S, Fall Protection and First Aid/CPR an asset
  • Mechanical ability an asset
  • Must have computer experience, Word, Excel and Email
  • Must be physically able to complete job duties
  • Maintain harmonious work relationships
  • Mandatory valid Saskatchewan class 5 drivers’ license
  • Air endorsement an asset
Salary and Benefits - As Per CUPE Agreement (Apr 1st, 2019 – Dec 31st, 2019):

Assistant Operator $23.41
Level I Operator $25.30
Level II Operator $27.69
Level III Operator $29.88
Level IV Operator $33.14
