Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sanitation / Cleaner to join our team for the afternoon shift at a busy food manufacturing facility. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary production environment to ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality. Your work will play a vital role in supporting the production of safe, high-quality food products. Previous experience in food manufacturing or industrial sanitation is an asset, but training will be provided for the right candidate. This is a full-time opportunity with the potential for long-term employment.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize food production equipment, machinery, processing lines, and work areas.
- Perform routine cleaning of production floors, walls, drains, restrooms, lunchrooms, and common areas.
- Follow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), food safety, and sanitation procedures.
- Safely handle and use cleaning chemicals, sanitizers, and equipment.
- Remove food waste, packaging materials, and other debris from designated areas.
- Restock cleaning and sanitation supplies as needed.
- Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
- Complete all assigned sanitation tasks according to the daily cleaning schedule.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience in sanitation, cleaning, or a food manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, or food safety standards is an asset.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced food production environment.
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks, heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Steel-toe safety shoes are required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
