Subbarao Lab is seeking a Research Associate
The Subbarao lab studies how early-life exposures and experiences shape lifelong health. Our current research is focused on disentangling the heterogeneity of asthma by using sophisticated statistical approaches that longitudinally characterize asthma traits of allergy and lung function in the CHILD cohort study and other clinical asthma datasets. Furthermore, our work focuses on the evaluation of asthma endotypes, identification of risk factors for asthma, and characterization of inflammation and lung growth traits in children from infancy.
Our team is transdisciplinary, combining expertise in physiology, statistics, epidemiology, nutrition and maternal-child health. We collaborate and use model systems, clinical cohorts, and administrative databases. We also work closely with health care professionals and patients. We have a diverse group of trainees from undergraduate students, clinical trainees and graduate students to post-doctoral fellows.
Current projects cover a broad range of topics such as:
-
Early life determinants (e.g. respiratory infection, dust allergens, and phthalates) of childhood atopy, obesity, and asthma endotypes
-
Implementation of clinical studies for early asthma screening and evaluation of targeted asthma interventions
-
Trials in preschool asthma of therapeutics to establish biomarkers of response to therapy and to differentiate endotypes of asthma that may be predictive of prognosis.
-
Gene-environment interaction and asthma development
-
Clinical predictors (e.g. blood eosinophil, nasal microbiome) of asthma and atopic diseases in later life
-
Translation of epidemiologic findings in CHILD study to clinical asthma cohorts
Responsibilities for Clinical Research Associate
-
