Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Public Area Attendant to maintain cleanliness and order in our facility’s public spaces. This role is vital in ensuring a welcoming, safe, and hygienic environment for all visitors and staff. The ideal candidate will have experience or interest in cleaning, commercial cleaning, and facilities maintenance, with a strong commitment to high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning of public areas including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and common spaces
- Ensure all surfaces are sanitized, floors are swept and mopped, and trash is properly disposed of
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards
- Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper in restrooms and other designated areas
- Assist with minor facilities maintenance tasks as needed to ensure the proper functioning of public spaces
- Follow established cleaning protocols and safety procedures to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Report any damages or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel for prompt resolution
- Occasionally assist with guest room cleaning, room inspections, or room readiness checks as operationally required
- Maintain constant awareness of surroundings and take initiative to immediately address any cleanliness or safety issues, or report them without delay—issues must never be ignored
- Assist with additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager or management team to support operational needs and ensure the smooth operation of the property.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in cleaning, commercial cleaning, or facilities maintenance is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Physical ability to perform cleaning duties which may include standing for extended periods, bending, lifting, and reaching
- Reliable work ethic with punctuality and dependability
