Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining a positive shopping experience. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual abilities and experience with technology sales or product demos are a plus, as they enhance customer engagement and sales opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases in a professional manner
- Operate POS systems accurately to process sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
- Handle cash, credit, and digital payments with precision and security
- Provide product information and conduct product demos when necessary to promote sales
- Upsell additional items or services to enhance customer satisfaction and store revenue
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and ensure the sales floor is tidy
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding store policies, promotions, and product features
- Manage time efficiently during busy periods to minimize wait times
- Uphold phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Assist in inventory management and stock replenishment as needed
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment
- Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities such as Spanish or other languages are a plus
- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately
- Experience with merchandising, upselling, or technical sales can be beneficial for enhancing customer engagement
- Ability to demonstrate products confidently and perform product demos when required
