Duties
- Operate commercial trucks safely across local, regional, or national routes while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, freight documentation, and delivery schedules for seamless operations
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to ensure vehicle reliability and safety
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to verify freight accuracy and assist with forklift operations when necessary
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate pickups and deliveries efficiently
Skills
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proficiency in forklift operation and heavy equipment handling
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and compliance
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
- Physical stamina to load, unload, lift heavy items, and perform inspections as required
