We're entering an exciting growth phase and are looking for a Senior Accountant who wants to play a key role in building the next stage of the firm—not just preparing files, but helping shape our systems, mentor our team, and improve how we operate.

The Opportunity
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical accounting but also wants to mentor others and help build a highly organized, process-driven firm.
You won't simply prepare files—you'll become the technical leader for the accounting team and help create the systems that allow the firm to scale.
Responsibilities
Technical Accounting
- Review compilation engagements prepared by team members.
- Prepare and review corporate income tax returns (T2).
- Prepare and review year-end financial statements using CaseWare.
- Research and resolve accounting and tax issues.
- Support client meetings on technical accounting matters when required.
Technical Leadership
- Serve as the primary technical resource for the accounting team.
- Coach and mentor bookkeeping and junior accounting staff.
- Review bookkeeping quality and provide constructive feedback.
- Help develop future accountants through regular coaching.
Process Improvement
- Improve and document accounting workflows and standard operating procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Help standardize file preparation and review processes.
- Contribute to building a scalable operating system for the firm.
Client Service
- Maintain strong client relationships.
- Respond to technical client questions professionally and promptly.
- Deliver a high level of personalized service.
What We're Looking ForRequired
- CPA designation.
- 5+ years of public practice experience.
- Strong experience with:
- Compilation engagements
- Corporate tax (T2)
- CaseWare
- Canadian private company accounting (ASPE)
- Excellent review skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound professional judgment.
Highly Valued
- Experience mentoring or training junior staff.
- Passion for improving processes and creating documentation.
- Comfortable working in a growing entrepreneurial environment.
- Positive attitude with a collaborative leadership style.
- Open to feedback and continuous improvement.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first year, you will:
- Become the primary technical resource for the accounting team.
- Help improve and document our accounting processes.
- Increase the quality and consistency of file reviews.
- Train and support bookkeeping and junior staff.
- Reduce the owner's involvement in day-to-day technical operations.
- Help build the foundation for the firm's next stage of growth.
