Role Overview
The Senior Operations Manager – Architecture will lead and optimize architectural operations across multiple portfolio companies, including Datta and Tayefi Architects Ltd, Kaller Architecture (Florida), and the MHCEG Architecture Team (Cairo)
This is a senior leadership role requiring over 15 years of experience, focused on driving operational excellence, standardization, and performance across diverse teams and regions. The role balances strategic oversight with hands-on operational leadership to enhance efficiency, collaboration, and long-term scalability while preserving each firm's identity.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Oversight
- Oversee architectural operations across all portfolio entities, ensuring alignment with MHC standards and strategic objectives
- Lead cross-company coordination between design teams, consultants, and stakeholders across multiple regions
- Manage project delivery performance, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
Business Development & Growth
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across MHC and its portfolio companies
- Develop and maintain key client, consultant, and industry relationships
- Support proposals, RFPs/RFQs, presentations, and strategic pursuits
- Identify cross-company collaboration and growth opportunities
- Support market expansion, client development, and revenue growth strategies
Operations Excellence & Systems Development
- Develop and implement an Operations Excellence framework across all architecture entities
- Establish and standardize process workflows, documentation systems, and best practices
- Design and implement management systems to track performance, productivity, and quality
- Lead the development of competency frameworks for architectural and operational teams
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability
Technical & Production Support
- Oversee and support production and review of drawings using AutoCAD and Revit
- Ensure consistency in design documentation and delivery standards across firms
- Support technical coordination across disciplines and regions
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and project requirements
- Maintain high standards of design quality, documentation accuracy, and regulatory adherence
Stakeholder & Communication Management
- Lead communication between internal teams, clients, contractors, and external partners
- Represent MHC and its portfolio companies in strategic meetings and high-level discussions
Reporting & Strategic Support
- Provide leadership with reporting, forecasting, and performance insights
- Support strategic planning, growth initiatives, and integration of new portfolio companies
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field
- 15+ years of experience in architectural, construction, or design operations roles
- Proven experience managing operations across multiple companies, offices, or regions
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit (required)
- Deep understanding of architectural workflows, construction processes, and project coordination
- Demonstrated leadership in building systems, processes, and high-performing teams
- Excellent organizational, communication, and executive-level leadership skills
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Project Delivery Efficiency (30%): At least ninety percent of projects are delivered on time and within approved budgets across all entities.
- Operational Alignment (25%): Achieve between eighty-five percent and ninety percent adoption of standardized processes across architectural companies.
Efficiency Improvement (20%): Deliver an improvement of fifteen percent to twenty percent in workflow efficiency across teams within the first year.
Stakeholder Satisfaction (25%): Maintain a satisfaction rate of at least ninety percent among clients, consultants, and internal teams. Compensation
Compensation
- Salary Range: $115,000 – $160,000 CAD annually (based on experience and qualifications)
- Performance-based bonus tied to KPI achievement
