Position Title: Electrician (Fly-in Fly-out)
Salary Range: $54/hr + OT
About the Client and Role
We are on the hunt for an experienced Electrician for our client, which operate an Iron Ore Mine in Nunavut. We are looking for someone to start Sept 15th. The work will run 2-3 months, with a good chance of further work beyond, and potentially full-time. We are ideally looking for a Maintenance Electrician in an Industrial setting, with some previous PLC experience. The mine operates on a 3x3 schedule; camp accommodations, food and travel provided. Tools and PPE provided. While this client hires our people for permanent roles, we can not guarantee full-time, therefore, it's best if you are not currently working or are getting laid off soon. Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all work is performed in a manner that conforms to all site safety policies and procedures
- Communicate to team members and supervisor unsafe conditions as soon as identified and diligently eliminate conditions that would cause incidents or affect productivity.
- Assist maintenance planning group in the preparation of electrical maintenance plans for all electrical, control, power generation and reticulation systems
- Develop safe work procedures and provide technical/operational input into maintenance procedures and systems to maximize reliability of power generation and reticulation systems as well as electrical systems at site
- Assist in the development actions for improvement in incident prevention, environmental performance, production, output quality, production costs, and capital expenditures.
- Assist in the requirement and training of team members, keeping them from inadvertently causing incidents. Suggest corrective actions and training to supervisor
- Monitor the performance of work, and provide encouragement and suggestions improve the capability of the team
Qualifications:
- Red Seal Electrician
- Industrial Maintenance experience valued
- PLC experience valued
- Arctic experience would be an asset
A background working with aboriginal people, working in remote mining camps is helpful.
