As Logistics Manager, the successful candidate will provide leadership across yard, warehouse, and delivery operations, ensuring systems, processes, and teams are aligned to deliver exceptional service and operational performance. This role is responsible for driving efficiency, inventory accuracy, safety compliance, and employee engagement while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Reporting to senior leadership, the Logistics Manager will oversee warehouse and yard operations directly while providing strategic oversight to dispatch and delivery functions. What you’ll be doing
- Conducting daily huddles with leadership and key team members to align priorities, surface issues, and keep operations moving
- Providing direct leadership to yard and warehouse operations, including oversight of the Lead Receiver and Lead Picker and their respective teams
- Overseeing dispatcher performance to ensure delivery routes and schedules are optimized, stepping in only when escalation is required
- Setting, monitoring, and analyzing KPIs across yard, warehouse, and delivery functions including on-time delivery, picking accuracy, inventory accuracy, and overall productivity
- Maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy through proper controls, cycle counts, and process discipline, keeping shrinkage within industry standards
- Owning and managing department budgets, ensuring operations remain aligned with financial targets
- Continuously optimizing logistics software and systems to improve efficiency and enhance the customer experience
- Leading process improvement initiatives focused on reducing bottlenecks, increasing throughput, and streamlining material flow
- Optimizing yard layout and product placement to minimize handling time and congestion
- Enforcing and championing a strong safety culture aligned with WorkSafeNB standards
- Maintaining top-tier standards of cleanliness and organization across the yard and warehouse
- Fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and exceptional customer experience across all logistics functions
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience in a logistics, warehouse, or operations management role with direct leadership responsibility
- Strong background in warehouse management, yard operations, and delivery or dispatch oversight
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and hold teams accountable through structured performance management
- Experience setting and tracking KPIs and using data to drive operational decisions
- Proficiency with logistics software or systems for route optimization, tracking, and reporting familiarity with TMS, GPS, or ERP systems is an asset
- Solid understanding of inventory control practices and shrinkage management
- Experience managing budgets and aligning operational spending with financial targets
- Knowledge of WorkSafeNB standards and a genuine commitment to safety culture
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — able to lead daily huddles, team meetings, and difficult conversations with equal confidence
- A self-starter mentality with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
