Matrix Mechanical is hiring an experienced Red Seal Plumber to join our team.
We’re looking for a licensed, experienced plumber who’s confident handling small and large commercial construction jobs, and mentoring, leading, and motivating your crew on-site. This is a hands-on role with collaborative work alongside other trades - including HVAC, electrical, and gas.
You’ll be responsible for working with a crew, and general contractor to ensure construction projects are executed efficiently, safely, professionally, and up to code. If you take pride in solving problems, working clean, and teaching others along the way, we’d love to have you on the team.
What the Role Looks Like
You’ll be working on a range of small and large commercial, and some industrial jobsites in Saint John and surrounding areas, including Moncton and Fredericton. Your day-to-day will include:
- Work week is Monday to Thursday 7am - 5pm (4X10)
- Occasional 5X8 shift rotation required
- Leading a plumbing crew
- Installation of complete underground and above ground DWV systems, domestic water systems, hydronic systems and compressed air
- Knowledge of commercial plumbing fixtures, equipment and piping systems
- Installation of pump systems, booster, sump, recirc, etc
- Knowledge of reading blueprints and executing as per project specifications
- Mentoring apprentices and junior plumbers through the process of installation, coordination with others, and working efficiently
- Coordinating with HVAC, electrical, and gas team members when jobs overlap
- Communicating clearly with general contractors, other trades and fellow team memebers
- Participation in site coordination meetings
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and professional worksite
- Participating in the scheduled on-call rotation (shared across the team)
- Ability to travel / stay overnights in hotels when the project site requires (Required)
What We’re Looking For
- Licensed Red Seal Plumber (Journeyperson - Plumbing)
- At least 5 years of experience doing small and large commercial projects
- Comfortable working solo or leading crew’s on
- Strong communication and mentorship skills
- Familiarity with local plumbing codes and permitting processes
- A respectful, team-first mindset and willingness to collaborate across trades
- Tech-savvy enough to use a tablet or mobile app for dispatch and documentation
- Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
