Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for young children. This role involves developing age-appropriate activities, supporting children's developmental needs, and collaborating with families and staff to promote positive educational experiences. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, classroom management abilities, and a genuine love for working with children. Bilingual skills in English and French are highly valued, especially in supporting diverse student populations, including children with disabilities or special needs.
Duties
- Design and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning and social-emotional development.
- Support children's individual needs through personalized activities and accommodations, including working with children with disabilities or special education requirements.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan curriculum activities, organize classroom resources, and maintain an organized learning space.
- Utilize computer skills and classroom technology to enhance teaching methods and recordkeeping.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques while promoting social skills and cooperation among students.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, attendance, and other administrative records efficiently.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with early childhood education best practices.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience in early childhood education or related settings is preferred.
- Experience working with children of diverse backgrounds, including bilingual environments or children with special needs, is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English; proficiency in French is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of child development principles, early childhood curriculum standards, and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Strong organizational skills, time management abilities, leadership qualities, and excellent writing skills are essential for success in this role.
