This role would be a perfect fit for:
Journeyperson technicians
310T apprentices
Trailer technicians OR Heavy-duty mechanics
Automotive technicians looking to transition into the heavy-truck industry
Shop labourers interested in developing a skilled trades career
What You Will Do:
Diagnose defects in heavy duty trucks and trailers and perform required mechanical services
Diagnose defects in electrical and lighting systems, brakes, brake drums, hubs, seals, and bearings
Repair/Replace components for hydraulics, air systems, axles, trailer panels, suspensions, bumpers
Perform CVIP inspections/Safety Inspections
Perform incidental welding operations on steel and/or aluminum trailers
Ensure documentation is complete and accurate
Other duties as assigned
What We Require:
High school diploma or other high school equivalency certificate, combined with previous experience as a mechanic or related role preferred
Familiarity with basic hand tools and equipment used in a workshop is an asset
Must be able to meet the physical requirements for the role: Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, to reach with hands and arms, work at varying heights, climb stairs, and/or ladders in FGI facilities, Frequent sitting, standing, and walking inside the branch
Proficient with Microsoft Office and other standard office equipment
Strong communication skills, including both written and verbal
Team-oriented, adaptable, with a commitment to safety excellence
