Pay Rate: $65/hr T4 OR $80/hr Inc.
Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Cisco Network Operations Specialist to provide operational support for its enterprise Cisco networking environment. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting Cisco network infrastructure across approximately 44 remote field locations throughout Western Canada, ensuring the reliability and availability of business-critical network services.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support for Cisco enterprise network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, SD-WAN, and MPLS connectivity.
- Perform break/fix diagnostics and root cause analysis.
- Execute network changes following ITIL change management processes.
- Support BGP routing infrastructure.
- Maintain Cisco Unified Communications (UC) and VoIP environments.
- Support remote connectivity utilizing microwave and Starlink networks.
- Monitor network health, respond to incidents, and fulfill service requests.
- Participate in planned maintenance, failover testing, and disaster recovery activities.
- Maintain network documentation and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise Cisco networking environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Experience supporting MPLS networks and BGP routing.
- Hands-on break/fix troubleshooting experience.
- Experience supporting Cisco Unified Communications (UC) and VoIP environments.
- Experience working within ITIL-based operational environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela).
- Experience with Cisco Firepower / Next-Generation Threat Defense.
- Experience supporting industrial or energy sector environments.
- Experience with Starlink satellite or microwave network connectivity.
- Experience migrating Cisco Wireless Controllers (3504 to 9800 Series).
- Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent certification is considered an asset.
