Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking AZ Driver / Dock worker to join our team. This role is responsible for safely loading, unloading, and organizing freight while ensuring shipments are handled efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
In addition to dock operations, this position will support yard activities, including moving and positioning trailers, with some local pickup and delivery. This is a hands-on role that offers a variety of responsibilities throughout the day.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a forklift to load and unload freight from trailers
- Organize and stage freight to maximize trailer space and efficiency
- Inspect freight for damage and report any discrepancies
- Secure freight to prevent damage during transportation
- Verify shipment information and ensure accurate freight handling
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dock area
- Assist with shipping, receiving as required
- Communicate effectively with drivers and dispatch
- Shunt and position trailers within the yard
- Move trailers to designated parking locations and loading doors
- Organize trailers and equipment to support daily operations
Requirements
- Valid AZ Driver's Licence
- Clean driver's abstract and CVOR
- Previous forklift experience required
- Valid forklift certification
- Experience loading and unloading trailers
- Experience shunting trailers and backing into docks
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work throughout the shift
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation to and from work
