Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Parts Advisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing parts inventory, assisting customers with their parts needs, and supporting the service and sales departments. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a solid understanding of automotive parts and repair processes. Previous dealership experience and familiarity with POS systems are highly preferred. The Parts Advisor plays a vital role in ensuring efficient order fulfillment, maintaining customer satisfaction, and supporting overall dealership operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in identifying and selecting the correct automotive parts through effective communication and product knowledge
- Manage inventory levels, track parts availability, and perform order fulfillment efficiently
- Utilize POS systems to process sales transactions accurately and handle cash handling responsibilities
- Maintain organized records of sales, orders, and inventory using Microsoft Excel or other organizational tools
- Collaborate with the service department to ensure timely delivery of parts needed for repairs
- Support marketing efforts by promoting parts specials or new product lines to customers
- Ensure proper maintenance of parts displays and stock areas to facilitate easy access for staff and customers
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries professionally via phone or in person, adhering to phone etiquette standards
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the parts department
Requirements
- Previous dealership experience or automotive repair knowledge is highly desirable
- Proficiency with POS systems, Microsoft Excel, and order fulfillment processes
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and customer service aptitude
- Ability to negotiate effectively with customers and vendors to meet sales goals
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is advantageous
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory calculations
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong salesmanship skills combined with marketing knowledge to promote products effectively
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
