Join us in making a difference. The Tertiary and Rehabilitation mental health relief team is a part of the Recovery Alberta portfolio in the Edmonton Zone, specifically at Alberta Hospital Edmonton. We provide person-centered care, with all team members working within the CoACT collaborative care model. You would be reporting to the Central Services Manager while working on Tertiary and Rehabilitation units onsite (8 Building). These units support individuals requiring stabilization and/or intensive rehabilitative support to enhance community readiness. These clients will have differing levels of intellectual disability.The Registered Nurse/ Registered Psychiatric Nurse - is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care for adults presenting with acute and chronic addictions and mental health concerns. The Registered Nurse/ Registered Psychiatric Nurse will provide safe, effective, and stage-matched nursing care according to clinical policies, procedures, and evidence-based nursing care standards. The Registered Nurse/ Registered Psychiatric Nurse works within a concurrent capable, recovery-oriented framework, within the context of a multidisciplinary team.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 - $55.79 per hour. Upon being entered into the register as a Registered Nurse, the rate of pay will be adjusted in accordance with the UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Recent experience in Addictions and Mental Health. Sound observation and strong verbal communication skills. Positive attitude and the ability to work effectively in an Acute Psychiatry setting. Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to adapt quickly to changes in daily schedule and patient needs. Working knowledge of person-centered care principles is important. Active or Eligible Registration with CRNA College of Registered Nurses of Alberta or CRPNA College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of the CoACT model of care. Working knowledge of trauma informed care.
