This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.

Responsibilities

The RN practices within the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) Standards of Nursing Practice for Registered Nurses and the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics. The RN is responsible and accountable for the nursing care of an assigned group of patients and their families, provides guidance and leadership to peers and other staff, and works in a collaborative relationship with colleagues, unit staff, students and members of related health disciplines.

Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current registration or eligible for registration in the province of Nova Scotia
BLS (HCP) certification
Current ACLS Certification
Two (2) years experience in medical/surgical nursing required
Six (6) months experience in telemetry or cardiac monitoring required
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Evidence of ongoing relevant education
Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and ability to maintain good relationships with patients/residents, families and co-workers
Demonstrated physical ability to perform the duties of the position
Good work and attendance record; attendance records may be reviewed
Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours of Work

Full Time Position; 75 hours biweekly

Long Assignment, commencing as soon as possible for approximately one year

Salary Information

$35.2108 - $41.4848 hourly
($42.9366 with 25 years of RN experience)
