Overview
We have an exciting new position as a full-time Communications Director at Wellmore, reporting to the Senior Director of Brand. The role is located at our Vancouver BC head office, but we are open to remote work for the right person! In this role you will be responsible for building the complete communications strategy for all Wellmore brands (Vega, Jade Leaf Matcha, Great Lakes Wellness, FGO) across both the US and Canada. The role requires someone with experience managing PR, influencers, partnerships, media (TOF & BOF), and consumer engagement and education. This role will oversee all facets of planning and execution, with the aim of driving brand awareness, conversion and promoting brand loyalty. This role will collaborate closely with the brand and creative teams, as well as manage external relationships (agency, partnerships, influencers). This person must be able to build strong relationships with our external partners and internal stakeholders. We are looking for someone who lives and breathes all things communications. You spend time across social media platforms, know what’s trending and can bring fresh ideas to the table about how to connect with our consumers in a meaningful and cut-through way.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all communications planning for all Wellmore brands from strategy to execution to reporting

Work in tandem with the Brand teams to ensure communication plans align to overall business strategy and priorities

Lead development of Wellmore’s annual digital media communications plan (owned social channels, paid media, PR)

Coach and develop a team of 4 (3 direct reports) by driving high performance and a strong team culture

Liaise and work closely with brand teams, internal creative teams, ecommerce, and agencies to build and execute brand comms calendars

Influence and persuade across the organization to procure and leverage resources, remove barriers, and engage cross functional teams to ensure projects are successful and timelines are met

Own external PR & media agency relationships including budgeting, relationship management, KPI setting and reviews

Analyze Vega performance vs. KPI targets, conduct post-campaign reviews, track competitive activity, and recommend optimizations back to brand teams.

Accelerate PR, Partnerships and Affiliate strategy to help drive brand awareness

Oversee Consumer Engagement and Education team

Continual optimization of our always-on media, assessing what is working and trialing new channels/platforms

Work closely with brand team to allocate budgets by brand and manage budget with finance team. Recommend adjustments based on business needs and in-market performance
Skills & Qualifications
-
Undergraduate degree/Diploma in Digital Media, Marketing or Communications preferred
-
A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in in the Digital Marketing space (agency or client side) and/or Communications, with preference for experience in PR/Partnerships

Experience building communication strategy for established and new products at various phases of life cycle development

Experience managing eCommerce brands, specifically DTC

Experience developing & executing digital advertising campaign including online video, paid social, owned social, paid search, performance marketing

Experience with creative evaluation and optimization, as well as deep understanding of creative best practices across platforms

Coaching mindset with previous experience managing multiple direct reports

Strong communications & presentation skills to get buy in on campaign plans and to present post-campaign reviews
