Responsibilities:
- Assessing the skill level and needs of the trainees
- Developing and delivering training programs and materials that cover topics such as forklift types, components, stability, inspection, operation, maintenance, safety, and regulations
- Conducting both theoretical and practical sessions that include lectures, demonstrations, exercises, and evaluations
- Providing feedback and guidance to the trainees on their performance and progress
- Documenting and reporting the training outcomes and records
- Keeping up to date with the latest industry standards and best practices
- Ensuring compliance with and other relevant authorities
Experience Needed:
- Forklift Training Train-The-Trainer
- Prior experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or similar environment
- Have knowledge of the engineering principles of stability
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with the role
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot the forklift
- Know how to perform pre-operational inspections
- Safe operating procedures
- Pedestrian safety
- Fuel sources and hazards
- Practical evaluation process
- Legislation, standards and guidelines for forklift operation in BC
