Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper/Accountant to provide crucial support in the area of bookkeeping and accounting for our organization. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate, enthusiastic individual who will be responsible for maintaining all financial functions required and providing support as necessary to our board of directors.
Qualifications:
- This position requires:
- Previous experience in bookkeeping (minimum 2 years).
- Previous experience in the charitable/non-profit sector preferable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience in CRM database is an asset.
- Willing to learn multiple software platforms.
- Self-motivated team player.
- Organized and detail oriented. Able to meet deadlines.
Duties:
- Donation entry and current receipting.
- Automatic monthly donation transaction processing.
- Bank Deposit and recording of all bank transactions including accounts payable.
- Payroll and CRA remittance processing and reconciliation.
- Month end reconciliation of all donations and expenses. Financial statement reporting.
- CRA Public Service Body Rebate reporting.
- Year-end accounting reconciliation and annual donor receipt processing.
- Preparation of T3010 charity return information.
- Reconciliation and recording of funds transferred to N.P.H. International.
- Maintenance of Donor Perfect CRM database, Sage 50 Accounting and other software programs as required.
- Responding to emails, phone calls and visitors as required.
