Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring cleanliness and organization for each patient appointment
- Assist dentists during various procedures, including fillings, extractions, orthodontics, and pediatrics, providing support with precision and care
- Manage patient records using dental software such as Epic or Dentrix to ensure accurate documentation of treatments and appointments
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) technology to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning
- Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, and managing check-in/check-out processes
- Educate patients on post-treatment care, oral hygiene practices, and upcoming procedures to promote long-term dental health
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards to protect patients and staff at all times
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Dental Assistant from an accredited program; experience with Epic or Dentrix is highly preferred
- Knowledge of orthodontics procedures and pediatric dentistry to support diverse patient needs
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dental care for effective communication and documentation
- Experience in dental assisting roles with proficiency in taking X-rays using CAD technology
- Ability to handle administrative tasks efficiently as a dental receptionist while maintaining a friendly demeanor
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and appointment scheduling
- Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients of all ages, including pediatrics
