This is a casual role for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department of Port McNeill Hospital in Port McNeill on Vancouver Island, BC.
What You’ll Do
As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will provide responsive, patient- and family-centred care to individuals with a wide range of urgent and complex healthcare needs.
You will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate nursing care while working closely with an interdisciplinary team to support patients and their families as their needs change. Depending on the hospital and clinical area, you may practise across multiple emergency care settings that require advanced training, specialized knowledge and experience.
You will practise in accordance with Island Health’s values and the professional standards and code of ethics established by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
What You’ll Need to Apply
- Current registration (or eligibility) with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing Registered Nurse.
- Completion of a recognized advanced program in emergency care nursing or two (2) years' recent, related experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
- Emergency Practice, Interventions and Care Canada (EPICC) certification preferred.
