Temporary / Seasonal | 3-Week Setup Period
We are an event planning company looking for skilled, reliable and hardworking individuals to join our setup crew for a large-scale Halloween/Fall event.
Our event requires approximately three weeks of hands-on setup, including set construction, installation, décor, lighting, sound and general site preparation. We are looking for capable people who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment and can jump in wherever needed.
What We’re Looking For
Ideal candidates will have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Set building, event installation or construction
- General carpentry and woodworking
- Confident use of hand and power tools
- Electrical and/or lighting experience
- Audio/sound equipment or installation
- General construction, maintenance or skilled labour
- Large-scale event setup or teardown
The Right Person
Beyond technical skills, we’re looking for people who:
- Are hands-on, capable and resourceful
- Take initiative rather than waiting to be given their next task
- Work efficiently and move quickly from one task to the next
- Can follow direction and work well under a crew leader
- Are equally comfortable being given a task and completing it independently
- Work well as part of a team
- Can adapt and pivot when plans or priorities change
- Are dependable and show up ready to work
- Are comfortable with physical work, heavy lifting and being on their feet for extended periods
Schedule & Working Conditions
This is an outdoor, all-weather event, and setup continues rain or shine.
Candidates should have flexible availability during the three-week setup period, including a combination of:
- Weekdays
- Weekends
- Daytime hours
- Evenings as required
This position is initially for the three-week event setup period. There may be opportunities for additional paid work during the actual run of the event for the right candidates, depending on event needs and performance during setup.
