This position is open to all qualified CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 7 July 2026 and closing at 11:59 pm on 10 July 2026.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The main clerical responsibilities include; maintenance and preparation of patient charts, facilitating patient flow, admission, discharge and unit to unit transfer process. Professional accountabilities include; the maintaining patient confidentiality and documentation. The preferred candidate will have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Meditech Operating System, OR Manager (PICIS, onBase and will be responsible for other clerical duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Medical Office Administration Certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience in a hospital clerical or medical office setting;
- Previous experience transcribing doctor's orders;
- Knowledge of medical terminology (tested);
- Knowledge of MS Word and Excel (tested);
- Knowledge with OR Manager, an asset;
- Knowledge of OnBase, an asset;
- Keyboarding skills at 35 wpm (minimum) (tested);
- Knowledge of CUPE and ONA scheduling language and associated premium entitlements;
- Experience with Meditech Personnel/Payroll and Admissions Modules;
- Ability to work with minimal supervision;
- Ability to prioritize organize and multi-task in a fast paced environment;
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills within a team environment;
- Able to work in an environment that includes reaching, bending, and pulling;
