Reporting directly to the Director, ICU & Critical Care Redevelopment Program, the Clinical Educator is an integral member of the Program’s leadership team. The interim Clinical Educator role will be in the Intensive Care Unit at the Credit Valley Hospital. This ICU is a Level 3, medical/surgical critical care unit, staffed by a large interprofessional team.
The successful candidate will excel in operational effectiveness; is committed to patient-centred design; and has a passion for leading teams within an interprofessional setting.
Current registration with the College of Nurse of Ontario and in good standing
Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required; Master’s degree preferred
Minimum five years clinical experience; critical care and/or general medicine experience preferred
Experience working with seniors with complex medical issues
Previous experience in developing and delivering educational programs
Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills – both written and verbal
Understanding of adult education techniques and ability to prepare and teach in both classroom and clinical settings
Ability to coach, mentor and provide feedback while fostering a positive work culture
Strong critical thinking, decision making, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Commitment to evidence-based practice and quality improvement
Demonstrated ability to multi task, prioritize effectively deliver to deadline
Strong working knowledge of computer applications, especially the Microsoft Office suite
Excellent performance and attendance record required
