Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Class 1 Super B Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating large tractor-trailers, including Super B trucks, to deliver freight efficiently across various routes. Your expertise in handling different types of trailers such as refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump truck, roll-off, and freight trailers will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 Super B trucks with manual transmissions across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, ensuring cargo integrity and security
- Transport a variety of trailer types including tankers, 53' van, and super-b units to multiple destinations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns
- Manage route driving efficiently by adhering to delivery schedules and maintaining accurate delivery logs
- Ensure proper securing of loads on different trailer types to prevent shifting or damage during transit
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery times, delays, or issues that arise during transit
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a focus on super-b tractor-trailer operations and route driving
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks with a strong understanding of vehicle handling and control
- Knowledge of various trailer types including tankers, 53' van, and super-b units.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or manual techniques while adhering to safety protocols
- Strong understanding of load securing procedures for different trailer configurations
- Excellent driving record with experience in freight delivery and truck driving safety standards
- Capable of performing routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Familiarity with regulations governing federal commercial driving and transportation safety standards
