About Us
At TriCALA, we believe learning never stops! We are a passionate, community driven non-profit dedicated to helping adults in our region gain confidence, build new skills, and thrive. Whether someone is working to boost their literacy, build basic skills, or settle into life as a newcomer to Canada, we are here to support them every step of the way.
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly organized, and practical professional to jump in as our Program Coordinator & Administrative Support! In a small non-profit, variety is key. You’ll wear a few dynamic hats: welcoming learners, keeping our programs running smoothly behind the scenes, and supporting the incredible volunteers who make our work possible.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Welcome & Guide Learners: Meet with adult learners, including a large focus on welcoming new Canadians to understand their goals and connect them with the right programs.
- Keep Operations Smooth: Manage program registrations, keep databases and schedules organized, and handle day to day office flow.
- Support Our Volunteers: Onboard, guide, and cheer on our volunteers so they feel confident and equipped to support our learners.
What We’re Looking For
- Exceptional Computer & Tech Skills (Must-Have): Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), confident data management abilities, and an innate knack for picking up new software tools quickly.
- Cultural Awareness & Interpersonal Warmth: Comfort and enthusiasm for working with diverse populations, particularly newcomers and new Canadians navigating a new culture and language space.
- Creative & Learner-Centered Thinker: A knack for thinking outside the box! We focus on learner-centered services, so we love fresh, creative ideas for encouraging adult learners and creating an engaging space for them to grow.
- Resourceful Solution-Finder: Ability to figure things out independently, connect the dots, and adapt smoothly when new tasks arise.
- Life Experience Matters: We value lived experience, practical skills, and a genuine heart for community just as much as formal education or diplomas!
- Bonus Points: Background or experience working in the non-profit sector is a great asset (though not required!).
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Enjoy a fantastic work-life balance with a compressed 4-day workweek (35 hours total).
- Join a supportive, welcoming team that directly impacts our local community every single day.
- Salary of $50,000 per year
